Faith Union |
Union of Faith Undoubtedly, there is strength in union, and that in isolation and division comes weakness. That is why churches seek to work on union, which is one of the most important challenges of the Church at the present time. This union is sought by the Orthodox Church, led by Pope Tawadros, Pope of Alexandria, and the Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, who visited Rome recently to work on rapprochement between the Catholic and Orthodox communities, which received a lot of support and rejection also from the people. Many of the supporters of that union believe that the obstacles that prevent the union between the two sects should be broken and the right way to bring the two churches together so that the era of division that lasted for centuries of time ends. But also from the other side, there are those who oppose this union and believe that the union cannot take place because of the fundamental differences between the two sects in terms of different interpretations of the meanings of the Bible, and also because of the laws of the two churches that differ in some personal matters such as divorce and separation between spouses and many other differences. However, if the two churches reach a draft and laws that work to eliminate these differences, this will be a major revolution in the Christian faith and union in God and put an end to this division that lasted for hundreds of years. Undoubtedly, the Bible called us to unite in Christ. In the early ages of the Church after the resurrection of Christ, there were no divisions, but there was Christianity that did not know any sectarian divisions. With the passage of time, the Church was divided into many sects, which led to a weakening of faith. Therefore, this big step that the Orthodox and Catholic churches are seeking to work together on the union will serve as the seed that will grow and bear fruit.
